NLN PREVIEW | Brackley Town vs Chester

The Blues play their first match of November this afternoon, travelling to Brackley Town.

Following a narrow, late defeat at league leaders Gloucester on the last day of October, our first team returned positive COVID tests earlier this month meaning they have missed their last four scheduled matches.

At present, the Blues sit 9th in the table with three wins and two defeats from the opening five games. Saturday’s match will be Bern and Jonno’s 100th competitive in charge of the club.

Chester’s opponents, Brackley Town, have been slow to get started in the league this term. Ourselves and the Saints were both beaten in the Play-Offs in July, and Kevin Wilkin’s side have won just one of their opening six games in the National League North thus far.

Nevertheless, St James Park remains a tough test and Brackley will be expected to be in and around the top seven once more this campaign. They have also progressed into the FA Cup Second Round, and face a trip to Tranmere Rovers in seven days.
