NLN PREVIEW | Chester vs Gateshead

Chester play their first home game in over a month this afternoon – as Gateshead visit the Deva.

The Blues returned from a two-week absence due to self isolation with two away games this week and they have yielded two points. The 1-1 at Brackley Town was followed by an entertaining 2-2 draw at Farsley Celtic in midweek.

But Bern and Jonno’s side will be eager to turn those draws into victories, and pick up some momentum ahead of what appears to be a busy December.

They will be without left back Joel Taylor for this fixture though, with the defender suspended following his red card last Saturday.

Chester face a Gateshead side in fine form, having won both of their games in the past week – the latter being a narrow victory over league leaders Gloucester City on Tuesday. The Heed defeated the Blues in the previous meeting the sides at the Gateshead International Stadium back in January.
