PLAYER INTERVIEW | Sean Miller delighted to be back
Chester FC’s new signing Sean Miller is happy to be back where senior football kicked off for him five years ago.
Miller joined the Blues thriving Youth Academy as an Under-18 and his hard work was rewarded with a first team contract back in 2013 alongside Tom Peers.
Speaking to ChesterFC.com on his return, he said: “I’m feeling very good. I’ve been away for four years now but I’m delighted to be back.
“Some of the people have changed, but there’s still some familiar faces around the place like Jimmy Soul and Calum (McIntyre) – I’m very happy being here.”
Since he burst on to the Swansway scene in our maiden season in the National League, Miller has gone away and worked on his craft – and wants to show the Blues crowd how he has developed.
“When I was here I was in the Youth Team and then I got signed up by Youngie (Neil Young) but I didn’t really see much game time.
“They sent me out on loan at the time and that benefitted me well playing adult football.
“It was the same at Altrincham and Connah’s Quay – really beneficial playing week in week out in adults football.
“I feel like I’ve come on a lot since I was a kid and I want to keep progressing and show everyone here what I can do.”
Sean was signed originally to the first team fold by Neil Young, and since then three more Managers have come and gone.
Now it’s the turn of Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley – and the wide man is looking forward to working under the duo.
“I’ve seen a lot of them at Salford when they were on the TV and stuff and they seem like they are really determined Managers.
“They are the type of people I want to be playing for. I feel like they will be able to get the best out of me.”
The 23-year-old from Liverpool may get his chance tomorrow as the Blues face a trip to Guiseley – and Miller is ready to pounce and make his mark.
“I’ve seen the lads in training and I’m well aware there’s lots of tough competition here with some of the players we have.
“But I want to be here and I want to play football – I’ve just got to bide my time and then when I’m picked I’ll show what I can do.”
