PREVIEW | Boreham Wood v Chester

The Blues are back in action this weekend, and making their final trip South for the 2017-18 campaign to face Play-Off hopefuls Boreham Wood.

Our National League fate already sealed, Chester come into this game off the back of a brilliant 3-2 success over Bromley – as Academy Graduate Nathan Brown scored a dramatic late winner.

The following day, it was announced Manager Marcus Bignot had departed the club with immediate effect. 24-year-old Academy Head Coach Calum McIntyre has taken Caretaker charge for the final three games of the season.

Boreham Wood will be looking to get back to winning ways tomorrow. Following a brilliant 1-0 win at Wrexham – ending their unbeaten home run which stretched back to the opening day – they have lost two on the bounce. A surprising away loss to FC Halifax was followed up by a home defeat in midweek to Champions Elect, Macclesfield.

The Wood currently sit in 6th place and, in a frenetic league table, there is still all to play for ahead of the new Play-Off system in May.

Luke Garrard’s side won the reverse fixture at the Swansway Chester Stadium back in October 2-1. Nyal Bell’s goal for the Blues was nothing more than a consolation after first half strikes from Shaun Jeffers and Bruno Andrade.

    One To Watch

    Bruno Andrade – Winger

The 24-year-old is going to be a pivotal part of Boreham Wood’s push for promotion. Joining in the summer of 2016 from Woking, he bagged ten goals in 36 National League appearances for the Wood last term. During this campaign however, he has really kicked on. The former QPR man has 18 goals to date and will be looking to add to his tally as the season reaches crunch time for the Hertfordshire side.
