Travel information by train and bus: The nearest train station is Stoke-on-Trent. The ground is approximately 3 miles away. There is taxi and bus stops immediately outside the station as you leave at the exit on Platform 1.
If you opt to get a bus from the station, the best Bus company to look at in terms of times would be First Potteries (the most popular and regular bus service, however other companies will travel nearby as well). The Train Stations postcode is ST4 2AA (starting point), with Hanley’s postcode being ST2 8AJ.
You can enter the time leaving beforehand to plan on First’s website. You will in most cases need to get 2 buses (one to Hanley bus station, and then one to either Bucknall or Abbey Hulton), therefore a Day ticket, including your return will be better value.
A short walk of half a mile, will be required in most cases to the ground, as the busses don’t actually go down Abbey Lane. It’s worth looking at where your bus will drop you off, it’s often either on Werrington Road or Leek Road. Google Maps directions are available here.
Travel information by car: At Junction 16 (M6), take the A500 exit to Newcastle-under-Lyme/Stoke-on-Trent(North)/Crewe/Nantwich. After about 7 miles, use the left lane to merge onto Etruria Road (A53) via the slip road. Keep right to stay on A53.
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Cobridge Road. After half a mile, turn right onto Waterloo Road (A50). Carry on, taking the first exit at the upcoming roundabout. At the traffic lights, turn left onto Bucknall New Road and carry on until the lights where you will want the left lane.
After half a mile, turn left onto Fellbroook Lane, following the road around onto Abbey Lane. You will then see the ground on your left. Turn left on to the lane, going up to the ground. Parking is very limited so please be considerate. Google Maps directions are available here.
