    Preview: Scarborough Athletic (a)

The Blues hit the road once again in search of their first away points of the new season.

Last Saturday saw an improved performance on the road at Banbury compared to the opening day, however Chester were edged out by the odd goal. Sheffield United loanee Frankie Maguire came on in the first half for his debut and made a positive impact, and could be in line to start the first game of our August Bank Holiday double header.

Scarborough away proved to be one of the most memorable results of the last campaign, as the Blues ended the Seadogs’ one year home unbeaten run with a 3-1 win in front of a jubilant away following. Kole Hall, Charlie Caton and Kurt Willoughby got the goals back in November 2022.

    THE OPPOSITION

Jonathan Greening’s side missed out on the play-offs by the barest of margins in April, and have made a steady start to the new season.

They’ve picked up six points from the opening four, winning both of their home games to nil and losing both of their away games by the odd goal.
