REPORT | Wythenshawe AFC 3-2 Chester FC Women
Chester FC Women fell to late defeat on Sunday at the hands of Wythenshawe AFC Women.
The Blues twice came from behind, but were beaten deep into stoppage time at Hollyhedge Park.
Wythenshawe, who sit eighth in the table following their victory on the weekend, took the lead inside the opening ten minutes. However, Martin Fitzsimons’ side hit back on the half hour mark as Molly Wood fired home from a tight angle.
The hosts would retake the lead on 64 minutes in stunning fashion, but again the Seals battled back with less than a quarter of an hour remaining when substitute Alisha Wright fired through a crowd of bodies from a corner.
Nevertheless, the home side would score in the 92nd minute to claim all three points. The defeat is the Blues second in the league this season, leaving them in fifth place in the division.
