RIP Evelyn Clegg

Chester Football Club were deeply saddened this week to learn of the passing of Evelyn Clegg, a much loved and long serving volunteer.

A lifelong supporter of the Blues, Evelyn passed away on Monday at the age of 93 following a short illness and, on behalf of everyone at the Club, we extend our sincere condolences to Evelyn’s son Robbie, family and friends.

Ev, as she was affectionately known, will be greatly missed not only by Chester FC family, but by the match officials, visiting directors and guests who enjoyed the wonderful hospitality Evelyn and her close friend Pam Hipkiss had provided in the Board Room since the Deva Stadium opened almost 30 years ago.

Evelyn and Robbie have been part of the fabric of our Club for many years and matchdays will not be the same without her warm smile, kindness and terrific sense of humour.

    RIP Ev.
