TEAM OF THE DECADE | George Horan is named in your defence!

    Captain. Leader. Legend.

No words are truer when you talk to Chester FC supporters about George Horan.

The defender joined his hometown club in 2010 on the eve of our first ever pre-season game at Colwyn Bay. George was given the Captain’s armband by Neil Young, and went on to lift three consecutive Championships with the club – completing the climb from Evo-Stik Division One North to the Conference.

A rock-solid centre back who organised the defence and truly led from the front, he wasn’t shy of making an impact at the other end too. In our first season, Horan scored ten goals – no mean feat for a defender – including critical strikes at Skelmersdale away and that dramatic late winner at Witton Albion.

He departed the club in the summer of 2014 with 20 goals and 159 appearances to his name. A modern-day legend.

George Horan is one of your voted centre backs in the Chester FC Team of the Decade!
