TEAM OF THE DECADE | John Danby is the Blues keeper!

As most of you know, John Danby was already held in high regard by Chester FC supporters before reformation.

The goalkeeper broke through at Kidderminster Harriers and then Chester City snapped up the stopper in 2006. He went on across the next three years to break a 40-year record of starting in 133 successive matches for the club.

He would return to the phoenix club in 2011. Once again, John was ever-reliable for the club and broke another record. He smashed Grenville Millington’s 37-year record, going a massive 781 minutes without conceding a goal!

An Evo-Stik Premier and National League North Champion under Neil Young, John Danby has been voted your goalkeeper in the Team of the Decade!

    Congratulations, John!
