PRE SEASON PREVIEW | Buxton vs Chester
Game five of pre-season is tomorrow afternoon – as the Blues head to Buxton for arguably their toughest test yet.
They come into it after three away wins in the space of five days. Last Saturday’s victory at Marine was the most encouraging performance of the lot – and the scoreline reflected that in a 4-0 triumph.
But despite Tuesday’s victory at Glossop North End being a narrow 1-0 margin, it was another morale boosting win and a pretty dominant performance – with goalkeeper Louis Gray also making it back-to-back clean sheets.
Buxton were also victorious on Tuesday – winning at home to the Blues’ fellow National League North side Chorley.
With impressive summer recruits such as Sam Wedgebury, Reece Styche and Barrow’s National League winning Captain Josh Granite – the Bucks will be considered one of the title favourites in the Northern Premier this term.
It will also see the Blues come up against former goalkeeper Grant Shenton – who made 42 appearances for the club in 2018/19 and kept 16 clean sheets.
