BREAKING | Jamie Morgan returns to Chester FC!
Chester Football Club are pleased to welcome back Jamie Morgan – who has today re-joined the club from Altrincham.
The 24-year-old has penned a one-year deal, returning to the Deva Stadium for a second spell in blue and white.
Morgan first linked up with the Blues back in the summer of 2019 from Nantwich Town, where he had just scooped up Players’, Manager’s and Supporters’ Player of the Season Awards.
Jamie made 36 appearances in two covid-curtailed seasons with Chester, scoring four goals. His stunning volley in January 2021 at Bradford (PA) was voted our Goal of the Season for the 2020/21 campaign.
The full-back moved up a division to sign for Alty earlier this year but has opted to return to the Blues to join up with new Manager Calum McIntyre.
On putting pen to paper, Jamie said: “I feel like I’ve got unfinished business here.
“Hopefully with the team we’re putting together and with Calum as Manager we can have a positive season.
“There’s a good feel about the place and it feels like the energy has come back into the club. We want to be successful.”
A full interview with Jamie will air this week on the latest episode of The Seals Podcast.
Blues boss Calum had this to say: “Jamie is as good an attacking full-back as you will get in this league and I am pleased to get him on board.
“He is obviously well known to our supporters from a previous spell here and he has a genuine desire to play a part in the success we all want to bring to this football club. I am really looking forward to working with him.”
Welcome back, Morgs!
