Chester vs Sutton: The Preview

    Chester vs Sutton
    Saturday, August 19th
    Swansway Chester Stadium
    Kick Off: 15:00

The Blues’ quest for their first win of the National League season continues today – as they host high flying Sutton United.

Jon McCarthy’s side are unbeaten however – after their third draw of the season came at Hartlepool on Tuesday night. A goal 57 seconds into the encounter from James Akintunde was cancelled out by Jake Cassidy’s second half header. Nevertheless, a solid point.

Nyal Bell looks set to miss out once again this afternoon through injury.

The visitors sit second in the table so far. Whilst it is early days, the team in amber already boast an impressive away win – beating Tranmere 1-0 at Prenton Park last weekend – and also got the better of Leyton Orient at home on the opening day.

A side reaping the financial benefits of an FA Cup run last season in which they faced Arsenal, Paul Doswell’s men beat Macclesfield 2-1 in midweek – thanks to two goals in the final five minutes.

Sutton have no new injury worries – as Anthony Jeffrey is set to be the only player in the squad to miss out.
